If you’re reading this, most likely you are a Doctor or a Healthcare Professional. I will keep this short and won’t be keeping you away from your important work, so keep reading.

We are good with patient-centered websites and have been working with HealthCare IT since many years. We have dealt with various providers and business organizations who are not clear with concepts of SEO (Search engine Optimization) and various marketing variants that bring your target audience to your website. We are not going to talk about SEO, but what comes after the goal of SEO is achieved.

The goal of SEO is over when it brings your target audience to your website.

SEO is only an invitation, Once the audience is on your website all the minute details of designing comes into action. Many websites spend a lot of money on SEO and marketing, yet they are unable to generate more traffic or leads to their website. To actually make user stay on your website, you would need more than SEO.  Failing to understand the difference between SEO and good website design is an obstacle for many HealthCare professionals.

Considering you are already working on your SEO and other marketing activities, let us dig a little deeper on what are other factors that affect your website visitors.

1) Great design

A good design will help the website visitor browse through different pages and get all the required information about your work and achievements.  We term this factor as intelligent design as this helps the user to see and read all the useful and relevant information in a format that keeps them engaged.

2) Attractive Images

Attractive images pertaining your specialty and infographics will always help capture attention of the viewers making them read more information and provide knowledge about your work.

3) Mobile Compatibility

More than 60% of the internet is used through mobile phones. Using an old version of the website that does not support mobile-friendly browsing experience can make it hard for mobile viewers to see all the information on your website. This will result in people going out of your website without bothering to read any further.

4) Great Content

Let’s face it, this is indeed the most important part of any website. You would need to put down content that makes sense to viewers or they would just jump out of your website as quickly as they jumped in. Be informative, be brief and keep updating your website with new content at regular intervals. Write blogs, case studies, infographics etc. to entertain your website visitors so they keep coming back for more.

5) Social Media

Make sure you have your social media page links connected to the website and when any website visitor clicks on these link; social media page should open in a new tab. I have seen often that people are pushed away from the website while clicking on any external links. Keep your website updated with new content and post your website links on social media to keep your followers updated.

6) Engagement

You will come across many questions on your website and social media. Make sure you have a habit of answering questions of your followers to build a trust level. This builds trust between you and your audience.

We always recommend our clients to fix their website before initiating with  SEO or any marketing activities. It’s obvious that without a proper roadmap of how your website will interact with your users your website will not be able to serve your goals.
